    Description

    The deep-bed denitrification filter is a treatment unit which combines the functions of biological denitrification and fitration. The ceramic filter media with special size and shape is applied as the media for the growth of bio-film, which makes the filter equipped with the functions of nitrate, SS and total phosphorous removal. The denitrification can be achieved without dosing external carbon source if the ratio of BOD5/TN in influent is more than 3;otherwise, the external carbon source is required to achieve a good denitrification performance.

     

    Deep bed denitrification filter is eligible to the plan in which the total nitrogen in the effluent must conform to certain requirements.

    ? The entire filter bed is in the anoxic condition in which NO3-N and NO2-N are deoxidized to N2 by nitrifier, thus achieve the denitrification.

    ? Equation:

     2NO2-+6H+ → N2↑+2OH-+2H2O

     2NO3-+10H+→ N2↑+2OH-+4H2O

     


    Applications

    It could be used in the treatment of industrial wastewater, surface water, reused water, drinking water plant and Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant.
